Evangelist, worshippers kill man with stones in Ebonyi
– A 60-year-old man, Philip Ugwu, has been murdered by suspected worshippers in Ebonyi state – He was killed with stones following a land dispute in Afikpo local government area
– One of the suspect has been arrested by the police while others are still been trailed An evangelist, Tochukwu Okoh, and three other worshippers have been accused of killing a 60-year-old man identified as Philip Ugwu. Ugwu was reportedly murdered following a land dispute in Afikpo local government Area of Ebonyi state, NAN reports.
The Ebonyi state police command said the incident occurred at Amebo-Ndebo village. READ ALSO: Ebonyi traders call for Jonathan as economy plunges deeper Speaking on Monday, October 10, the state police spokesman, George Okafor, said the wife of the deceased, Abani Ugwu, reported the case to the police on September 30. She told the police that Okoh and three others attacked her husband with stones and he eventually became unconscious when he could not withstand the attack. The victim, popularly called Boxer or Coach, was said to have argued with the worshippers in a new generation church over the erection of a fence to demarcate their lands.
According to an eyewitness, they heard Ugwu’s wife screaming that her husband had been attacked by some worshippers and when they got to the scene, they found him lying unconscious.
“He was immediately rushed to the hospital but his wife identified one of the attackers still with a stone who was immediately apprehended and handed over to the police. “The victim’s wife explained that he had purchased and built on the parcel of land even before the church came to lay claim over it,” the witness said.
Ugwu was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead. His body has been deposited in a mortuary and would undergo autopsy. The police spokesman said Okoh has been arrested in connection with the incident.
“We are currently on the trail of other suspects and I am sure that they will soon be arrested due to the useful information at our disposal. We assure the public that the matter will be investigated thoroughly while the culprits will be duly prosecuted,” he said.

Shock as Man Apologizes on Facebook Before Killing His Ex-Girlfriend in Front of Their Daughter
A 23-year-old man identified as Ethan Reid, was arrested after he killed his ex-girlfriend Kaylah Hodges, 20, with a shotgun in front of their seven-month-old daughter at his mother’s home in Scottsville, Kentucky, USA.

According to WSMV, the Allen County Sheriff Department said the couple – whose five years relationship ended recently, got into an argument before Kaylah was fatally shot.
Reid’s mother, April Riley, was holding her granddaughter when Hodges, who had been living at the family’s residence, was killed by her drunk son.
Speaking about what happened, April said: “Kaylah handed me the baby and got around me, and Ethan shoved me and the baby back and went after her. And then I heard a ‘pop’ and when I got to the edge of the hallway I saw her fall out the front door. That beautiful baby has no parents.”
Reid was disarmed by a neighbour, who heard the shooting and went to the house with his own shotgun. He was able to overpower Reid by using the butt of the shotgun to hit his head.
He then sat on him until police arrived and arrested him.
Hodges, who was found on the front porch by deputies, was taken to hospital but died due to the nature of her injuries.
Reid on the other hand, was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries he suffered during the struggle with the neighbour, and is being held in custody on a charge of murder.

102 Years Old Woman Achieved her Dream of Getting Arrested
A 102-year-old woman has been arrested by police for a reason quite out of the ordinary. Edie Simms, from St. Louis, Missouri, has never been arrested which happens to be her life-long wish. Last week, Sergeant John McLaughlin of the St. Louis Police Department teamed up with Michael Howard, executive director of the Five Star Senior Center, to make the senior citizen’s dream a reality.
ABC News reported that the centenarian has sewn or knitted more than 400 handmade items for senior center residents but never distributed them by hand – so instead of driving Simms to a nearby precinct following her faux arrest, the officers took Simms around to deliver the goods in person. “She was so excited that she can ride in a police car and she said, ‘Do you think you could put those handcuffs on me?,‘” Howard said.
When Simms got to the senior center, she handed out her crafts, posed for pictures, and participated in a game of bingo. She also made a speech about the importance of giving back.
“Keep going, don’t ever stop whatever it is you’re doing, and spend some time doing community service,” Simms advised.
“Sometimes the person you reach out and touch is the only person that they will talk to in a day.“

A few hours after midnight on Monday morning, Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint in her Paris hotel of what is now estimated to be more than $10 million worth of jewelry — a story that has captivated the media, both in Europe and the U.S., in the days since.
As there is little chance the jewels will be recovered, Kardashian is now presumably about to enter into a complicated claims process with her insurance company — most likely Lloyd’s of London (which specializes in insurance for multimillion-dollar gems), according to Scott Andrew Selby, co-author of Flawless: Inside the Largest Diamond Heist in History.
But how much Kardashian West will receive for the loss (assuming, of course, that each piece was insured) depends on a number of factors, including the category and conditions of her coverage. “It all depends on the type of jewelry coverage the customer purchased,” Janece White, North American vice president of underwriting and jewelry specialist at Chubb Personal Risk Services, a multinational property and casualty insurer, tells Billboard. “Was it worldwide coverage? Was there a maximum amount of coverage provided while traveling? Were there any restrictions with regard to the security required while traveling with the jewelry? In some instances restrictions are placed on the policy, which require that when traveling the jewelry be kept in a secure hotel safe — not the room safe.”
The conditions of Elizabeth Taylor’s insurance on the famous, 69.42 carat Taylor-Burton diamond, for example, specified that Taylor should only wear it in public 30 days per year and when protected by security guards, according to Lloyd’s. If anything had happened to the diamond while violating those conditions, she would not have received the full value of her claim.
Assuming Kardashian West is indeed insured, and was following the dictates of her policy to a T, the claims process will still be complicated. “Very high value, unique and rare items can be tricky to replace with pieces of ‘like kind and quality,’ which is the standard for most insurance companies,” Heather Perkins, head of underwriting at Los Angeles-based jewelry insurance specialist Lavalier, tells Billboard. “So a multi-million dollar claim like this one is going to be difficult, both to investigate and to resolve.”
It is common for those who own jewels as pricey at Kardashian West’s to wear imitation jewelry while traveling — something White strongly suggests for other owners of high-ticket items. And if an imitation set is not an option, storing the jewels in the hotel security safe when they aren’t being worn is a must. “I would also be wary of making my whereabouts known, as individuals who could wish me harm could use that information,” she adds. “And lastly, because even when all precautions are taken, sometimes bad things happen. I would want to make sure I had the best insurance coverage in place to protect my valuables.”
