A suspect has been charged for attacking a 101-year-old woman in London, after she left a prayer meeting in August.
The Telegraph reported that Jawad Naser, 37, was charged on Wednesday for pushing the then 100-year-old Alexteen Roberts to the ground and stealing her bag.
Roberts, a Seventh-day Adventist, recently celebrated her 101 year birthday two weeks ago.
When the attack happened, Robert's grandson, Ashley Aitchseon, said he heard his grandmother shouting in "distress" outside their home. He managed to punch the robber and break his sunglasses during the fight, but the perpetrator was able to escape.
Roberts was taken to the hospital where she was diagnosed with minor injuries, including bruised ribs. But the family is now taking shifts to take care of her after the ordeal left her fearful of what might happen.
"I'm a bit shaky. When I'm coming in the house now I'm afraid because of this wicked man," she said.
