Few days ago, a group of backpackers found a portrait of a man painted on the side of a cliff in the city of Taizhou, Zhejiang province, China – it was later revealed that the portrait was painted by a 37-year-old woman in order to profess her love to a man.
The portrait would likely have been discovered sooner were it not for the fact that the 218-meter-high cliff wall where the portrait was painted was off main routine path. The portrait is 6 to 7 meters high, with the subject’s expression vividly depicted. All clues pointed to the work being done by a skilled painter.
According to a man surnamed Wang, a member of the local rock-climbing club, the portrait was painted by a climber named Lingling. lingling2
After falling in love with a fellow club member named Chen Geng, Lingling decided to paint Chen’s portrait on the mountain cliff to show her love.
Lingling came to the mountain every weekend and worked on her masterpiece after spending several hours climbing to its site. In order to save time, she lived on the mountain during weekends.
It took Lingling two months to complete the portrait. She used mineral pigment so that the painting would be preserved for a long time. Wang said it was not right to paint on a tourist site, but that Lingling’s love for Chen is true. Confirming the incident, the church bishop, Mr Nahashon Khaemba said Mr Sifuna had just recovered from sickness and was set to preach for the first time after recovery.

Yvonne survived a near death experience after she was caught in the crossfire between cops and hijackers in Midrand, South Africa, yesterday September 28. According to the Midrand Reporter, one hijacking suspect was killed during the shootout with cops and another injured. Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini told the paper “The men were being chased by police at the time. two suspects were shot, one died at the scene and another was wounded and airlifted to the hospital under police guard,” he said.

Senator Shehu Sani has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to look beyond the pursuit of only the loot stolen by the late General Sani Abacha.
The former head of state reportedly kept money in different countries especially Switzerland and while the country has returned some loots, there are still efforts to recover some more money.
President Buhari has written to the Swiss government calling for the expedition of Abacha’s loot but Vanguard reports that Senator Sani who is representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District advised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to extend its tentacle to the Middle East and Far East where he alleged some corrupt Nigerians stashed their loots.
Sani said this on Wednesday, September 28 in Kano when he visited Alh Tanko Yakasai and Alh Yusuf Maitama Sule.
He said: “Hundreds of billions of tax payers’ money have been stolen over the years and we have a duty to recover them, but it is very evidently clear that the idea of looted funds and the recovery from outside Nigeria seems to be beginning and ending with Abacha as if it is only Abacha that stole money and he is the only person whose money should be returned back to Nigeria.”
“I believe that we should go beyond that and check on how our own money was filtered away and taken to countries of the Middle East and also the Far East.”
“It is disturbing that at this very critical moment of our country’s history, we have been faced with a series of economic challenges that clearly if not managed very well will lead us to self-destruction.”
“In the last four to five decades, we have been dependent on oil revenue and we have seen how over the years, the resources accrued from such revenue have not reflected or have not tallied with the level of social and economic development we have seen on the ground.”
“We have seen how a culture of waste and mismanagement over the years, how a culture of lack of saving has made it impossible for us to address some issues that are facing us as a country.

Meanwhile, the US is set to repatriate over $550 million of stolen funds during the regime of Abacha after a case instigated by a Nigerian lawyer was dismissed.
Vanguard reports that a US-based Nigerian lawyer, Godson Nnaka, had requested for $320 million from the Abacha loot from Nigeria.
Justice John D. Bates of the U.S District Court had dismissed Nnaka’s claim and insisted that he was not a party to the forfeiture case filed by the US Department of Justice in conjunction with Nigeria.
A tribunal has found Dr. Adekunle Williams Owolabi guilty of all four professional misconduct complaints lodged against him and suspended his licence to practise for six months. The decision was given Monday in St. John's, at the professional misconduct hearing against Owolabi conducted by a tribunal panel established by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador. At an earlier hearing, Labrador teacher Arlene Johnson testified that when she visited Owolabi for a pelvic exam he made comments that she believed were se-xual.
She also said that after the test, he hugged her and whispered in her ear: "You have a beautiful c--t, does your husband tell you that?" Another complainant testified that during a pelvic examination, Owolabi asked, "Do you like big ones or small ones?" She said Owolabi made the comments while she was pregnant, undressed from the waist down, and had her feet in stirrups. There were two female secretaries in the room at the time, she said.
The tribunal said Owolabi's inappropriate comments and touching of patients showed a lack of respect for the dignity and privacy of patients, which it determined constituted professional misconduct deserving sanction. Owolabi was given a six-month suspension of his medical licence. The tribunal ordered that he have a chaperone present when he sees female patients for two years after returning to practise. In addition, he must take a training course about respecting patients and was ordered to pay $75,000 towards the costs of holding a hearing.

2 men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Nigerian man in Charlton, Greenwich, South-east London. Tobi Animashaun, 25, died a day after he was fatally stabbed by a group of men while leaving work through a security gate. On Friday, Sept. 16, a 23-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of the murder. Both currently remain in custody at a south London police station.
Police were called at approximately 19:55hrs on Sunday, 11 September, to reports of a man stabbed in Anchor and Hope Lane, SE7. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and Tobi was taken to a south London hospital where he died the following morning, Monday 12 September. A post-mortem examination held on Tuesday, 13 September, at Greenwich Mortuary gave cause of death as incised wounds to chest and abdomen. The investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Graeme Gwyn from the Homicide and Major Crime Command. He said: “Tobi was attacked by a group of males as he left work on Sunday evening. We are keeping an open mind as to motive but he was attacked just as he exited the security gate. We are keen to speak with anyone with information and ask they contact us as a matter of urgency.” Paying tribute to him, the victim’s family said: “Tobi was a son, big brother, cousin and friend. He had a heart of gold and was protective of everyone in his family; especially the girls. It truly saddens us that we have lost Tobi, but his spirit will live on in our hearts. We do hope the people who are responsible for this are brought to justice.” Enquiries continues.

Everything changed because Garnett wasn’t just an elite basketball player; he was also an elite leader, a man who shifted the culture of an entire organization in one fell swoop.
“Very few players can affect an organization like Kevin did here in Boston, both on and off the court,” Ainge said Friday, the day of Garnett’s retirement from the NBA. “He led our team by example every day with his drive, his passion, and his relentless commitment to winning.”

If you have not obtained your Bank Verification Number and biometrics capturing, or you did it in one of the banks where you have accounts, you will not be able to have access to all your other accounts in the other banks except you link the different accounts through the BVN.
The BVN is a biometrics registration that every account holder is expected to do because it gives each bank depositor a unique identity, which can be verified at any bank where he has accounts.
The BVN was also introduced as a measure to boost the safety mechanism in the banking systemas well as reduce incidences of fraudulent transactions.
To do the BVN, a customer needs to visit one of his bank branches in any part of the country.
He will be given a form to fill and supply information about himself, which must tally with what he used to open his bank account.
The bank will also take finger prints and other necessary details of the customer.
After doing the biometrics, the bank will assign him a number, which shall be peculiar to that customer and no one else.
The customer is not expected to go the same process in the other banks, where has accounts. All he is required to do is to take the BVN given to him by the first bank to the other banks and use it to update his information there.
If the information he used to open the other bank accounts is different from what he used for his BVN, he will not be able to use the accounts until he is able to reconcile it on all the accounts.
However, if a customer has done the BVN in one bank, he can conveniently update his information with his other banks through the Automated Teller Machine, Internet banking, the banks’ BVN linking portal, SMS or the customer can simply visit any of the banks’ branches where he will be asked to produce his BVN and fill a form.
Internet banking: To link your BVN to your other accounts, log on to the Internet banking platform, select the BVN, click on new request, enter your BVN, select the bank where your BVN was issued and answer the secret questions and follow the instructions. BVN portal: Enter your Nigeria Uniform Bank Account Number on the BVN portal, select the bank where your BVN was done, enter the BVN and submit. ATM: To use the ATM platform, insert your debit card in the machine, select BVN on the transaction menu, enter your BVN number, confirm and submit it. SMS: To link your BVN through SMS, text your BVN details to the number provided by your bank. You can get it by calling the bank’s customer care line. Bank branches: Asides from using the electronic means, a customer can as well go to any of his bank’s branches to update his BVN.
